Managing Partner

Sean O’Dowd is Managing Partner of Scholastic Capital. The son of a teacher, he noticed in his childhood the rental premium an elite school district could command. Before launching Scholastic, he consulted for Fortune 500 companies and top private equity funds as an independent consultant, following his early career as a top-ranked consultant at Boston Consulting Group. The proceeds from his consulting career were used to purchase real estate to test the Scholastic thesis.

Sean lives in the Chicago suburbs with his wife and two children, including a third on the way. Sean graduated with honors from The Wharton School of Business & was a recruited member of Penn’s Heavyweight Crew team.
